University of Cape Coast (UCC) Assistant Basketball Team Coach Dr. Eric Opoku Antwi had positive remarks about the 2020 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

In an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com, he had positive things to say about Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball tournament despite his side’s failure to progress to the national level of the competition.

UCC lost 31-33 to arch rival Takoradi Technical University (TTU) after blowing University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) thanks to a 60-29 result. TTU beat UMaT 49-25 to clinch the title.

“I think it (UPAC) is a competition that has been around for a very long time and I feel it gives the boys a chance to come out and compete and show their skills in basketball” he said.

TTU joins Radford University College-Zone One winners-in the next phase of the competition which comes around after the zonal phase is complete.

However, that would happen after a month long ban to curb the Corona Virus spread is lifted with the competition suspended as at the time of publication.
