The US Men’s College Basketball senior year players have been granted an extra year of eligibility by the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

This means Ghana born British international Small Forward Akwasi Abeyie Yeboah could return for another year at Rutgers University.

Yeboah played one year at Rutgers after transferring from Stony Brooks University following a three year run as a starter. He redshirted his freshman year at Stony Brook.

The 2019-2020 season came to an abrupt end due to the spread of the corona virus which forced officials to cancel the postseason. Rutgers was due to play St. Mary’s University prior to the cancellation.

Yeboah could declare for the 2020 NBA Draft but after averaging 9.8 points and 4.8 rebounds in 23.8 minutes, he is likely to return to the program for next season.

Earlier this month, the 22 year old won the Sportsmanship Award in the Big Ten Conference for his outstanding leadership. Yeboah was born in Takoradi but moved to England when he was nine years old and has represented England at the Under 20 level.
