Recently appointed International Basketball University (IBU) Regional Director Richard Borsah has stated the main aim for bringing the specialized institution to the shores of Ghana.
He made this statement in an interview with Hood2Hood Basketball in the aftermath of his appointment as the Director for the West African sub region.
The veteran Forward’s appointment comes at a time when the sport of basketball is growing in popularity in Ghana especially among the country’s youth.
Stating the reasons behind the Lithuanian based institution’s decision to incorporate the sub region into its plans, Borsah said:
“The whole idea of bringing IBU to Ghana is to help improve the game help us to know the things that are hidden and know the level of impact that the game of basketball can do for a country”.
Borsah has extensive years as a player in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I with Braves of Customs before joining Tudu Magic in 2019. He has played for Ghana on several occasions.
IBU is a specialized basketball and sports university.
