In his first season at the Athens based club, Bentil won the Greek League despite the 2019-2020 season’s cancellation due to the corona virus pandemic.

Panathinaikos latest title came on the back of an overwhelming vote from the League’s General Assembly in the aftermath of the cancellation

However, Panathinaikos Owner Dimitri decided to put the team up for sale with a $25 million price tag and his intention for the club to leave the EuroLeague.

The planned sale has signaled a potential exodus of foreign based personnel on the roster with Jimmer Fredette, Wesley Johnson and Andy Rautins likely not to return. Coach Rick Pitino left at the end of the season.

Finances are key in determining the future of the players on the roster; coupled with reportedly shared essence, Bentil is likely to stay for the 2020-2021 season which is slated to return in September.
