Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghanaian Power Forward/Center Ebenezer Dowuona will wear Jersey Number 21 in his freshman year at North Carolina State University.
The jersey numbers were unveiled recently for freshmen or first year players in the Men’s Basketball Team nicknamed the Wolfpack.
Five players have joined the team for the 2020-2021 season and Dowuona takes over the jersey last worn by Danny Dixon. He wore jersey numbers “10” for Heritage High School in Newnan, Georgia.
Prior to committing to North Carolina State, Dowuona attracted interest from University of South Florida, University of Pittsburgh and Auburn University.
Fellow Freshmen Jaylon Gibson, Cam Hayes, Shakeel Moore and Nick Farrar will wear jersey numbered 11, 13, 2 and 30 respectively.
In High School, Dowuona averaged eight points, 14 rebounds and two blocks and adds athleticism, size and strong rim protection to the Wolfpack.
He is the younger brother of Emmanuel Dowuona who is set to play in his second year at Purdue University. The brothers grew up in Ghana before moving to the US.
