The virus has impacted the start date of the BAL which was scheduled to commence on March 11 in Dakar, Senegal. However, the rapid spread of the virus prevented that and the league has been on an indefinite suspension since.

“We all miss what we do, and miss what we love. This is a time for us to stay together, pay attention to the rules and regulations. Listen to leaders, listen to experts” he said.

Ujiri is a major contributor to the BAL’s creation which is a joint project between the NBA and basketball’s world governing body FIBA.
