Kawhi Leonard did not travel with the LA Clippers to Orlando, Florida, on Wednesday in order to tend to a family matter, a source confirmed to ESPN.

Leonard was granted permission by the Clippers, and he is expected to join the team in a few days, a source said, confirming a report by Yahoo Sports.

The Clippers arrive in Orlando as one of the contenders for the NBA championship.

Leonard leads the team, averaging 26.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 51 games this season.

The Clippers (44-20) enter the restart of the season 5.5 games behind the Los Angeles Lakers for the top seed in the Western Conference.
