Ahead of qualification games for the 2021 African Nations Basketball Championship (AfroBasket), the South Sudan Basketball Federation has called on players to camp.

The camp is to prepare players for the national team’s upcoming round of games in the nation’s quest to qualify to its first ever tournament since gaining independence in 2011.

South Sudan competed in preliminary qualifiers earlier this year with games played between January 14 and January 18 before the corona virus pandemic was first reported in Africa.

The downward trend of infections on the continent means games are set to return in the latter part of the year and South Sudan is in line to compete.

South Sudan missed out on the top spot after five games played to Kenya; Sudan won four of five games to register nine points while Kenya won all five games to clinch 10 maximum points.
