The list of basketball events affected by the Corona Virus (COVID 19) pandemic has changed for the worse as this year’s edition of the CAP 7 Tournament failed to take place as envisaged earlier this year.

The news of the change in schedule was announced by organizers with the need to observe corona virus related restrictions on human engagement and a ban on contact sports in Ghana as the reason behind the decision.

However, in an official statement released, organizers are optimistic of better prospects in the near future stating “we can assure you there’s something really more exciting on the way”.

The Tournament is held annually to honour fallen basketball heroes of the nation and commenced a couple of years ago following the demise of former Accra Basketball League (ABL) Chairman Benjamin Baafi.

Popularly known as “Capito”, Baafi served as a player and administrator across various levels in the sport before he passed away after a long battle with illness in 2017.

Various teams have competed in the tournament in previous editions with the 2019edition lasting a full week.
