Wheelchair Basketball Player Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe is looking forward to a second win at the 45th Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards this weekend.
He made this statement after bagging the Para Athlete of the Year Award at the same event two weeks ago following a dominant run in the year under review.
Nkegbe has been nominated in the Personality of the Year Award category alongside Boxer Richard Commey and Ghana’s 4×100 Relay Team.
The versatile athlete won gold medals at the Desert Challenge in the United States of America and gold at the OCC Tournament in South Africa.
He clinched qualification to compete in his fourth Olympic Games setting a new national record in the process as the athlete with the most Olympic berths.
Speaking after receiving the Para Athlete of the Year Award, Nkegbe said, “I am looking forward for the bigger one ahead of us this is just a stepping stone we just hope that the big one will be added.”
The SWAG Awards is headlined by telecommunication giant MTN.
