Basketballghana.com can confirm Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has retained her parliamentary seat after getting re-elected as Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma West Constituency.
She retained her seat in the aftermath of the recently held Parliamentary and Presidential Elections in Ghana; Owusu-Ekuful run on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Prior to the elections, the veteran Politician also served as Ghana’s Minister of Communications; she polled 37,363 votes with her closest challenger, Rev. Kweku Addo of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) polling 30,733 votes.

Mere weeks before the elections were held on Monday, December 7, Honourable Owusu-Ekuful commissioned a newly refurbished basketball court in the constituency.

The court located at the Dansoman SSNIT Flats, a suburb in Ghana’s capital, Accra, was in a terrible shape for decades and improving the facility was the Minister’s response to a fervent call by the youth in the area.

At the commissioning, the re-elected Member of Parliament revealed the court was the start of a project to make Dansoman the basketball headquarters in Accra.
