Basketballghana.com can confirm this year’s University of Ghana (UG) Inter Hall Games would take a virtual format as part of the University’s efforts to comply with COVID 19 restrictions in Ghana.

The multi sport competition will have participants in basketball, football, hockey, volleyball and handball battle it online for places in the latter stages of the respective tournaments.

The basketball event commences on February 8 with representatives from 16 Halls of Ghana’s premier university due to participate.

The likes of Akuafo, VALCO, Hilla Liman, Elizabeth Sey, Commonwealth, Alex Kwarpong, John Mensah-Sarbah and Jean Nelson Halls have been drawn in the pool.

Over several decades, the Inter Hall Games have served as the best platform for student-athletes to showcase their skills and it also serves as a platform for other athletes to get identified and selected into teams across various disciplines.

Team UG won the 2019 UPAC edition

UG has channeled the success of the Games to dominate basketball in Ghana and Africa; UG’s Male Basketball Team has won gold at the All Africa University Games in 2016 and 2018.
