Basketballghana.com can confirm the final round of qualification games to this year’s Olympic Games Basketball competition has been scheduled to take place on February 2.

The draw will determine qualification groups for multiple nations who are set to battle for the final four slots available in the men’s division. The qualified team list in the Women’s Division is complete with Nigeria as the sole African representative.

However, three African nations in the Men’s Division have a chance to make it to the Tokyo Games should they top their respective groups in the aftermath of the draw and tournaments in Serbia, Canada, Lithuania and Croatia.

Angola, Tunisia and Senegal are set to be drawn into groups alongside countries like Greece, Italy, Turkey, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Russia.

Nigeria has already booked its place in the upcoming Olympics on the back of winning three of five games at the 2019 Basketball World Cup held in China.

Playing in Tokyo would be Nigeria’s third appearance at the Olympics in a row.
