Basketballghana.com can report Ghanaian-Canadian International Laeticia Amihere has scored 15 points in a top effort in University of South Carolina’s progress to the Elite Eight stage of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

South Carolina beat Georgia Tech 76-65 and is due to play University of Texas later tonight in the quarterfinal stage of the national basketball championship.

Aside scoring 15 and ending the contest as South Carolina’s second top scorer, Amihere added a steal, an assist and seven rebounds in 24 minutes off the bench.

The 6 foot 4 Power Forward converted six of eight field goal attempts and converted all three free throw attempts with three turnovers. Zia Cooke led South Carolina 17points.

Born to a Ghanaian father, Amihere is renowned for her athletic plays and gained enormous fame after dunking in a game at age 15.

The redshirt second year player could end up with the NCAA title before moving on to play for Canada’s Senior Women’s team in the Tokyo Olympics later this year.
