Basketballghana.com can report Ghanaian-Italian International Shooting Guard/ Small Forward Awudu Abass will compete in the semifinals of the Italian Basketball League Playoffs.

This comes after the 28 year old helped Virtus Bologna secure a 105-100 win in Game 3 of the quarterfinal stage of the playoffs against Treviso. Bologna beat Treviso 91-72 and 89-83 in Games 1 and 2 respectively.

Abass registered seven points, a steal, four rebounds and an assist in 16 minutes as a starter; after struggling to start games in his debut season at Bologna, he has started all three games thus far in the playoffs.

Awudu scored two of five field goal attempts with one coming after grabbing an offensive rebound and laying the ball up and into the basket in the third quarter as Bologna trailed 46-61. He scored a three point shot in three attempts.

Pajola Alessandro led Bologna with 25 points after scoring six of seven three point attempts and added seven rebounds in 29 minutes.

Bologna takes on Brindisi in the semifinals later this week.
