Reports reaching Basketballghana.com indicate the 2021 Tema Basketball League (TBL) Season will commence in August possibly halting the extensive break in the league.
This comes on the back of the release of the start of the registration period for prospective teams in the league; the end of registration is slated for July 20.
With so much time lost due to the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic, the League Organizers are under pressure to start the 2021 league as soon as possible.
A ban on participating in contact sports in Ghana was placed in the wake of the pandemic but easing of restrictions in the West African nation has culminated in the return on competitive club basketball competitions.
TBL teams have been active over the past couple of months in anticipation for the 2021 League start date by playing in friendly games.
2019 League Champions Nungua Coldstore and rival teams like Tema Community 4 and Spintex Knights are expected to register to compete in the 2021 season.
