After a blistering execution of three point shot attempts in previous games, Nigeria’s National Men’s Basketball Team (D’Tigers) cooled off from distance in a loss to Australia.

Nigeria lost 69-108 to the Aussies in the last of three exhibition games for the West African nation ahead of its participation in the Tokyo Olympics. Nigeria is set to compete at the Olympics for the third time in a row.

Josh Giddey scored 14 points

D’Tigers struggled to get its offense going unlike its previous contests against USA and Argentina where Nigeria won 90-87 and 94-71 respectively.

A three point heavy offense was the main reason for Nigeria’s wins especially in the shock win over USA where Nigeria converted 20 three point shots.

In the loss to Australia, Nigeria converted just eight three point shots; D’Tigers attempted 31 three point shot attempts in the game that had Australia’s Chris Goulding lead the game with 21 points in 22 minutes.

Josh Okogie and Obi Emegano scored 10 points apiece for Nigeria and were the only players to register double digit points.
