Restricted free-agent forward Jarred Vanderbilt has agreed to stay with the Minnesota Timberwolves on a new three-year, $13.8 million contract, his agent, Kevin Bradbury of Rep1 Sports, told ESPN on Friday.

Vanderbilt, 22, played his first injury-free season since his junior year of high school for Minnesota last season.

After playing only 28 games with injuries in two-plus seasons with Denver and Minnesota, Vanderbilt played 64 games — including 30 starts — for the Timberwolves in the 2020-2021 season. He averaged 5.4 points and 5.8 rebounds in nearly 18 minutes a game.

Vanderbilt was the 41st overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft after foot and leg injuries limited him to 14 games in his freshman season at Kentucky as a five-star recruit.

Also on Friday, restricted free-agent guard Jordan McLaughlin agreed to a new three-year deal with the Timberwolves, sources told ESPN. McLaughlin is a two-way contract success story for the Wolves’ development program.
