Navy v Police (white) in a Women's Regular Season game

Basketballghana.com can report defending Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division Champions Ghana Police Service has recorded a 45-32 win over Ghana Navy in the 2021 Regular Season.

The game was played at the Prisons Court in Cantonments in Accra earlier today; the matchup was the first of two league games in the division played with the second game having Ghana Fire Service beating University of Ghana 35-22.

Match Report

Police held a 28-24 lead with 2:04 minutes left in the third quarter with Georgina Ntow scoring a layup and Balkisu Saddat and Mavis Martey combining for three points from the free throw line. Juliana Cudjoe converted two free throws for Navy.

Police’s Christiana Ayebeng’s shot stretched her team’s lead to six points (30-24). Cudjoe scored the quarter’s final points as Police led 30-26.

Navy Delorie Aziks scored early in the final quarter; Ntow scored one of two free throws in response. Police went on a 10-0 run as Zenabu Mohammed hit a jump shot with Ntow, Martey and Balkisu scoring layups to put the game away.

Police capitalized on Navy’s inability to retain possession to score late in the quarter. Cudjoe assisted Cynthia Sosavi’s layup as Police won 45-32.
