Basketballghana.com can confirm AS Monaco Basketball Club has sacked Zvezdan Mitrovic as Head Coach and replaced him with Sasa Obradovic.

Veteran Coach Obradovic makes a return to the Municipality club after coaching the team in the 2019-2020 season. He left to coach Red Star Belgrade in the 2020-2021 season but left early.

His appointment brings pairs him with Ghana born French International Shooting Guard Yakuba Ouattara who also left Monaco after the 2019-2020 campaign to join Coosur Real Betis.

The appointment comes at a time Monaco readies itself to play two games in the Euroleague this week; on Wednesday, December 15, the team play Lithuanian side Zalgiris Kaunas and takes on Zenith St. Petersburg on Friday, December 17.

Monaco ranks 14th in the 18 team Euroleague standings with five wins and nine losses and Ouattara has largely struggled for game time and production this season.

He missed the previous Euroleague encounter against Milano with injury but returned to action in the French Pro A league this past weekend.
