Reports reaching Basketballghana.com indicate former NBA Guard Robert Pack has been appointed as Head Coach of Basketball side Rwanda Energy Group (REG).

His appointment comes ahead of the commencement of the 2022 Basketball Africa League (BAL) that runs from March 5 to May 28.

The FIBA Africa-NBA continental tournament is scheduled to have 12 teams compete in Senegal, Egypt and Rwanda. The top teams from the Sahara Conference and Nile Conference progress to play in the knockout stage at the Kigali Arena in Rwanda.

6 foot 2 inch Pack, played 13 seasons in the NBA for Denver Nuggets, Portland Trailblazers and Dallas Mavericks. As an Assistant Coach, he has worked at Los Angeles Clippers, OKC Thunder and Washington Wizards.

REG is in the Sahara Conference with top rated AS Sale from Morocco and 2021 BAL Finalist US Monastir from Tunisia. Sale recently appointed former Kenya National Men’s Team Coach Liz Mills as Head Coach.

Rwanda’s representative in the 2021 BAL, Patriots, finished in fourth place.
