Defending Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I Champion Reformers of Prisons has picked up its first win of the 2022 Season.
The win came via a 68-66 result against last year’s finalist Braves of Customs at the Prisons Court in Cantonments; the game was the last fixture honoured in the opening week of the new campaign that commenced on March 8.

The teams faced off in last year’s Finals and Reformers swept the best of three games series to win its first ever ABL Men’s Division I title. Beating Braves earlier this weekend by a two point margin went exactly as Reformers Head Coach Prosper Agbleta predicted prior to the matchup.

“I will win…I have to win since I want to defend the league championship I have to win” he said in an interview with Basketballghana.com
Earlier on the matchday in the same Division, St. Joseph’s CYO beat Ghana Police Service 41-33; both teams missed out on competing in the 2021 Playoffs.
