Dr. Opoku-Antwi

Spintex Knights Basketball Club is aiming to win in multiple ways in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II according to Team Owner Dr. Eric Opoku-Antwi.

He indicated this in an exclusive chat with Basketballghana.com in the aftermath of beating Ashaiman Basketball Academy 93-51; it was the debut game for either side in the ABL. (Click highlighted text to read match report)

When quizzed on the aim of the team in its debut campaign in the league, Dr. Opoku-Antwi alluded to the team’s capacity to win on multiple fronts.

“Our aim is to still develop guys, build them from one step to the other and also to see if we can qualify to Division I” he said and commended fellow debutant Ashaiman for their effort stating “good basketball was played”.

Knights made its mark on the Greater Accra basketball scene by finishing second in the Tema Basketball League-a community basketball league- in 2019.

The team is loaded with former ABL Division I talent including former Ghana Police Service pair Elvis Pobi-Siaw and Benjamin Omari.
