Basketballghana.com can confirm American-Ghanaian Bashir Ahmed has ended his first season with Romanian Basketball League Pro A team Targu Jiu with a double digit scoring average.

The 6 foot 6 inch Small Forward/ Shooting Guard averaged 10.8 points and 3.8 rebounds in 22.2 minutes across 26 games in the Baltic nation.

Ahmed played at St. John’s University before turning pro

In his final outing for the 2021-2022 Regular Season, Ahmed registered 10 points, a blocked shot and two rebounds in 24 minutes in a 93-86 win over Steaua Bucharesti.

Ahmed scored two of six two point shot attempts and added a pair of shots from three point range; he was one of five players for Targu to score in double figures.

Targu Jiu ends the season in 12th place with 11 wins and 19 losses in the 16 team league standings but missed out on qualifying to the playoffs.

29 year old former St. John’s University player Ahmed has professional playing experience in Croatia, Argentina and France before joining Targu and could be on the move again.
