Basketballghana.com can report as many as 19 players of Nigerian origin have entered the early phase of the 2022 NBA Draft. This year’s Draft is slated to take place on June 23.

However, early entrants can pull out of the draft process before June 13 should they not hire an agent prior to the said date mere days after the conclusion of the NBA Finals.

The list of players from the West African nation is led by Ochai Agbaji who played an instrumental role in Kansas University’s win in the 2022 National College Basketball Championship Final game.

The 6 foot 5 inch Shooting Guard Agbaji , who turned 22 last month, averaged 18.8 points in his final year and was voted the Most Outstanding Player in the NCAA Final Four.

Two players of Ghanaian origin are in the list; San Diego State University Center/Power Forward Nathan Mensah and George Mason Forward Josh Oduro have made the list.

Efe Abogidi, Ochai Agbaji, James Akinjo, Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu, Emmanuel Akot, Theo Akwuba, Keve Aluma, Marcus Azor, Dylan Disu, Anthony Duruji, Aminu Mohammed and KC Ndefo.

Ike Obiagu, Josh Oduro, Gus Okafor, Osayi Osifo, Osun Osunniyi, Leonardo Okeke and Gideon George.
