Basketballghana.com can confirm Tunisian side US Monastir has lifted the 2022 Basketball Africa League-BAL- Title after bagging a win over Angola’s Petro de Luanda in the Final Game. [Click highlighted text to watch game highlights]

The BK Arena in Kigali hosted all games in the BAL Playoffs including the final game that had Monastir clinch an 83-72 win. Ahead of the final, last year’s winner-Zamalek from Egypt- beat Cameroonian side FAP 82-53 to clinch third place. [Click highlighted text to watch game highlights]

Michael Andre Dixon and Firas Lahyani provided the scoring punch for Monastir with each player registering 21 points; Lahyani added 10 rebounds to his tally while Dixon added six assists to his stat line.

James Majok was the only Zamalek player other than the aforementioned duo to score in double figures in the game; he scored 14 points.

Angola’s Petro had Lukeny Goncalves score 28 points and household names Carlos Morais and Yannick Moreira add 12 points and 18 points respectively.

Monastir lost the 2021 Final to Zamalek while Petro finished in third place last year. Zamalek’s third place finish was led by DJ Strawberry’s 20 point outing with teammates Edgar Sosa and Mikhael McKinney scoring 17 points apiece.
