GBBA President Van-Ess

Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA) President Ato Van-Ess has stated plans are underway to get an indoor basketball court built in the country.

He stated this in his State of Ghana Basketball address delivered recently via the GBBA’s official Facebook page where he touched on several items the Association has achieved in its brief term in office and matters the GBBA is working to fix. (Click highlighted text to watch full address)

On the subject of providing a much sought after world standard indoor basketball facility to aid accelerate the development and popularity of the sport, the GBBA President stated:

“The New York Square Group is a group in the US and we signed an MoU with them just recently and they are looking at infrastructure so they intend with us to solicit the necessary resources to put up a 5,000 seater indoor court in Ghana”.

The announcement of a national championship basketball tournament set to involve teams from regional leagues later this year was made by the President Van-Ess.
