Legon Hall was the first to be built on the permanent site of the University of Ghana at Legon and is, therefore, the Premier Hall of the University.

The hall which comprises of both male and female students has produced some amazing basketball team and individual brilliance since 1952. The premier hall is noted for unearthing talents who have gone ahead to make the university proud.

The hall etched its name in gold plate last year when they clinched the maiden edition of the Rite Multimedia organised Legon Dunks on the main court of the University.

They beat highly fancied Commonwealth hall (vandals) back to back to lift the ultimate diadem and are poised to replicate the same performance in this year’s Legon Dunks at the same venue on March 18.

The players will count on the Hall’s motto Cui Datum (“To whom much is given.”) to raise the flag of the hall in high esteem when the much talked about Legon Dunks takes centre stage on Thursday March 18 at the precint of the University.

The favourite will face stiff competition from rival halls like the Akuafo Hall, Commonwealth hall, Sarbah Hall, Evandy among others during the one-day tournament.

Pundits claim the Legon Hall team look good enough for their second succesive title after impressing on trials in the build up to the big-day.

But that leaves to be seen if they can hold unto their pre-tournament favourite tag as huge anticipation awaits the biggest basketball tournament among the various halls of the University of Ghana.

Legon Dunks is part of activities to mark the 58th anniversary of the premier hall of the University of Ghana and powered by Rite Multimedia – leaders in basketball development and promotion in Ghana.
