Turbo Jets ladies recorded a famous victory over Magic and dumped them out of the running to book a place in the knockout stages on Wednesday.

It was sweet revenge for Jets who came into their final group match buoyed by their nail-biting success over Reformers. Jets ladies were considered the whipping girls in the recently concluded Greater Accra series.

They lost to Magic in the series and knew the sort of challenge that was in stall for them- bearing in mind that only a win could secure them a place at the semi-final stage of the 2010 edition of the Thome Cabalan Championship.

They confronted the challenge with all the seriousness it deserves and girl! They were phenomenal. They looked a completely different team as they got their spot on fast breaks, free throws and great dribbling skills on the court.

Point guard for Magic, Cynthia Sosavi was the only bright spot for her side as they continued to find the defense of their opponent difficult to penetrate. They ended up losing the game 53-39 and that means the Burma camp based side qualifies to the semi-finals of the tournament at the expense of Magic where they battle CEPS on Thursday.

Meanwhile CEPS also continued their fine form in the tournament with a 52-29 win over CYO in a highly competitive match Wednesday morning

CEPS are eager to make amends after they lost the Greater Accra basketball series to Police and they’re keen to make the final berth and clinch the title to placate their fans.

The semi-final pairing in the ladies category is now complete with CEPS battling Turbo Jets while Police clash with CYO on Thursday at the Lebanon court in Ghana’s capital.
