Ashaiman head Coach Raphael Ahadzie is a man of few words; many deeds. He is a quite character, a hard-liner and stickler of rules and effective organization.

Important values he exports to his young squad at the ongoing Community Dunks at the University of Ghana. He qualifies for a complete coach whose attitude has endeared him to so many people including his colleagues and friends.

He’s one coach who complains less and has won the warmth and huge respect of his players and fans alike who holds him high esteem.

Like anything based on best guesses, predictions really don’t mean much in the grand scheme of things, other than perhaps providing entertainment to those caught in this calm of season-2 of Community Dunks. For those fans, these predictions may spark enough conversation to get them through the wait as Ahadzie talks about how he’ll relish the prospect of lifting the most prestigious basketball championships amongst communities in Ghana capital, Accra.

Ashaiman has begun on a whirlwind fashion dishing out a painful 35-33 victory over Maamobi –Nima in a nerve racking encounter on match day 1. The victory has put them on a good stead going into the second round game against defending champions Cantonment on Saturday.

Coach Daniel Sowah’s ego was deflated beyond elastic limit after that defeat and he’s promised his charges will enter the second game with so much determination that it would take more than character and team chemistry from Ashiaman to succeed in two days time.

‘You know I don’t talk much. I always want the court to do the talking for me and that’s why we’ve remained quite since our victory over Maamobi-Nima’ Ahadzie said.

‘We know the challenge that Cantonment will provide and won’t be fooled because they lost their game against Teshie-Nungua. They’re a solid side and we have massive respect for them but we’re not afraid of them.’

Community Dunks is an initiative of Rite Multimedia and sponsored by Indomie with support from Metro TV.
