Champions Supreme Toase Girls will tackle highly improved Yaa Asantewaa in the first semi-finals in the ongoing 2010 Sprite Ball Championship at the main basketball court of Opoku Ware School.

The highly unassuming Toase Girls will gain another entry into the grand finale if they manage to negotiate their tie against their opponent on Saturday afternoon.

Yaa Asantewaa have looked the most promising side in the competition so far where their sublime piece of skills saw them overpower Kumasi Anglican 20-3 in a one-sided game while the champions struggled to beat Osei Kyeretwie 8-4.

The stage is set for another showdown as both teams eye a place in the finals and subsequent qualification into the National event.

The other semi-final pairing will see last year’s bridesmaid Kumasi Wesley Girls take on St Louis in a game which is expected to draw the attention of the hundreds of fans gathered.

Wesley Girls booked their ticket after an 18-4 victory over Asanteman Girls while St Louis were superior against Prince of Peace Girls (Popgiss) to set up a date with each other.

The place for the boys semi-finals are underway but we can confirmed that host Opoku Ware School will play giant killers Nkawie in the first semi-final game while Prempeh College has just beaten Kumasi Secondary Technical School 28-13 to set a date with  Kumasi High who managed to beat Supreme Toase boys earlier in the day.

The action is getting more exciting with nerve racking moment in the game………..
