University of Ghana (UG) female basketball head trainer, Coach Sala has not been dismissed according to the university’s Director of Sports Dr. Bella Bello Bitugu.
Dr. Bello made the statement in an interview with “Fastbreak” Host Yaw Sakyi Afari in the aftermath of his team’s disqualification for fielding an unqualified player at the recent Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games held in Winneba.
He said, “I have not fired her I don’t think it was correct to have allowed her to lead the technical team in the last match of the competition.”
“I thought she should step aside for the investigation to be conducted for the truth to come out whether she did it deliberately or not.”
UG’s female team had all wins in the competition recended and ordered to pay a fine of 50 Ghana Cedis after the investigation found the institution culpable.
He also rejected allegations the school deliberately fielded an unqualified player.
