The 2016 Rexona Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship is set to take place between March 5 and April 16. Conversely, a series of warm up games for participating schools to fine tune their skills will precede the much awaited tournament.

Counting down to tip off later this month, Basketballghana.com takes a look at Catholic University College’s chances heading into this year’s championship.

The Catholic University College is arguably the most recognized tertiary institution in the Brong-Ahafo Region as it holds a tall list of oustanding achievements to its name. The growth of basketball in Ghana has given cause for the Fiapre-based institution to add more gloss to their outstanding record.

However, CUC will be challenged by Sunyani Nurses Training College, University of Energy and Natural Resources (UNER) and Berekum College of Education in Zone C of the preliminary round set to be played at UNER’s court on March 11.

The third edition of UPAC is headlined by world leading deodorant brand Rexona and will feature 28 tertiary institutions during the 10 week-long tournament. The lads at CUC will be eager to let their skill laden lights shine through the tournament come March.

UPAC 2016 is supported by CAL Bank in partnership with media outlets including TV3, Y FM, Basketballghana.com and Graphic Sports.
