Wisconsin International University College former basketball team captain Kofi Gyimah is confident his team is ready for the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.
The third edition of the Championship is scheduled to take place between March 5 and April 16 and will be headlined by world best-selling deodorant brand Rexona. 28 tertiary institutions will compete for the chance to win Ghana’s ultimate tertiary basketball competition.
Speaking to Basketballghana.com, the ex team leader was in ebullient mood as he gushed about the team’s massive potential.
“We are coming in this year determined to qualify for the nationals and win the ultimate prize. Wisconsin is coming hard as never before, they-the players- eat, sleep and play basketball now” he said.
“The task lies on the likes of Cedric, Benjamin, Alhassan and the rest of the team to pick up from where thy got during the last UPAC Championship.”
Wisconsin will play against University of Ghana, Marshalls University College and Central University College in Zone G as they seek to improve on last year’s performance.
The 2016 UPAC Championship is supported by CAL Bank, MTN and Fanyogo in partnership with Y FM, TV3, Basketballghana.com and Ghana Sports.
