GTUC failed to make it out of the preliminary stage of the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship following defeats to Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and Pentecost University College.

However, the team bounced back in style in the Private Universities Students Association Games (PUSAG) basketball competition by beating Central University 21-18 in the quarter final before losing 18-19 to Marshalls University College in the semis.

The team which also featured 2015 Tertiary Player of the Year nominee Kingsley Quist, claimed bronze ahead of Regent University College.
