DC Dynamics began life in the Greater Accra Men’s Division I Basketball with a 50-52 loss to Teshie Rangers at the Lebanon House in Tudu, Accra on Friday May 6.

The game which run deep into the night had both teams go at each other with no fear and unsurprisingly resulted in the game’s lead switch on several occasions. Dynamics lead from the second quarter till the final minutes of the fourth quarter before letting go of the lead.

Despite the late commencement, fans never lacked the swift pendulum of emotion throughout the game as Dynamics and Rangers saved the best for the last. Both teams began tentatively with either outfit canceling out the other in the opening quarter. Rangers fared better taking an 8-7 lead into the second quarter.

Things loosened up in the subsequent quarters with the silky skills both teams possess finally come out which the score line (23-17 for Dynamics) appropriately captured. Rangers’ sharp shooter Gabriel Numarworse stepped up his production as the game progressed with key three point baskets to slash his team’s deficit to a single point (31-32).

With a minute and 21 seconds left to play and Dynamics still holding onto a point advantage, Rangers converted second opportunities that came their way courtesy relentless work on gathering offensive rebounds. Those chances ended up swinging the game’s lead into Rangers’ hands for a well deserved win.

In the day’s other games, Tema Youth opened the new season against Navy losing to the latter 46-51 before Braves of CEPS took on Holy Family in the following game. The defending champions showed no mercy to a shorthanded Holy Family side which had no substitutes, by beating the latter 69-37.
