Fire Service wretched season in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s division continued following a third loss in three games this past weekend at the Prisons Court in Cantonments, Accra. The loss this time around came at the hands of Air Force who beat Fire 42-29. The team suffered similar losses to Reformers of Prisons (30-62) and Braves of Customs prior to the game.

Air Force didn’t have much to do in the game except shackling Fire Point Guard Carlyn Naa Adjei which has proved to be the solution to unraveling the team. In the opening game, she fouled out of the game and the combination of Rahinatu Dramani, Grace Doe and Afia Agyeman stifled her against Braves.

This past Friday, that task fell on Nafisa Mumuni and Adelaide Dsadie and the latter pair responded appropriately by forcing Adjei to use her teammates more who have under performed.

Assistant Coach Lawrence Nortey clearly cast a dejected figure on the bench as instructions have not been heeded by his charges. Fire will be hoping for a maiden win this season when they take on Galaxy Ladies on June 2 at the Lebanon House.

Air Force on the other hand, faces Reformers of Prisons aiming to notch a third straight win.
