Administrators of the Accra Basketball League (ABL) have called off Week Five games in the Women’s division scheduled for the Prisons Court in Cantonments, Accra. The games were postponed by representatives in an official statement following heavy rains which left most parts of Ghana’s capital inundated in water.

The exclusive statement privy to Basketballghana.com pinned the postponement down to bad weather. Here is an excerpt of the official release:

“The game has been called off…due to the poor weather condition, it will be rescheduled and communicated later.”

The postponement comes just days after games in the men’s division were called off for a similar weather pattern which rendered the Lebanon House Court risky to play on. The latest postponement will affect games between Air Force and Galaxy, Fire Service and Navy and defending champions Braves of Customs and Reformers of Prisons.

However, league administrators have yet to communicate new date to honor games in the men’s division I.
Ghana’s capital Accra has been on the receiving end of heavy rains which have affected the city and even claimed lives of people.
