The Accra Basketball League (ABL) had another round of postponed games following league administrators decision to call off games due to unfavorable weather patterns. The Men’s Division I games were affected this time around following Thursday’s postponed games in the Women’s Division.
The latest cancellation comes in the wake of two previous cancellations including the aforementioned games in the women’s division. June 3 games which included the much anticipated clash between the enterprising coaches of Tudu Magic James Okine and DC Dynamics Feranmi Olulonyo, were postponed due to incessant rains.
The fifth round of games were scheduled to have Navy play Holy Family, Teshie Rangers play Tudu Magic and Fire Service play defending champions Braves of Customs who are yet to taste defeat in the season.
League administrators are yet to set a new date to honor the games.
The 2016 season is at the mercy of the weather since league venues- the Lebanon House in Tudu and Prisons Court in Cantonments- have no indoor facilities to avoid games getting cancelled due to poor weather. Ghana is in the rainy season which normally beginsin late May and ends in August.
