The apparent discord between teams competing in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) and league administrators was as read team officials were left stranded at the Lebanon Court. Some teams were present at the Lebanon Court to honor scheduled games only to be informed officials had postponed the games.

Rains threatened to mar the day’s games in the morning but ceased approximately three hours before the 17:00 GMT tipoff time. Players and team officials of teams set to compete rightly were present at the Lebanon House in anticipation of the task ahead.

However, players could not compete like they expected as league administrators relayed information of the cancellation to the ire of a huge section of those present at the court.

One player who did not want to be named lamented to Basketballghana.com, officials should have communicated better to team representatives to prevent the situation from unraveling in that manner.

Navy was scheduled to take on Holy Family as home side Tudu Magic was set to take on Teshie Rangers after the opening game. Fire Service and defending champions Braves of Customs were pegged to battle in the final game of the day.

Heavy rains in Ghana’s capital, Accra have caused games in the league to be postponed on two previous occasions.
