Air Force leader Annabel Dsane has fingered her team’s first loss of the season to “hard luck” after suffering a deflating 29-48 loss at the hands of defending champions Braves of Customs in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division over the weekend.

Speaking to Basketballghana.com following the huge loss, Dsane cited hard luck among a myriad of reasons behind the team’s first losing effort. He said:

“I think is hard luck. Luck just wasn’t on our side. We missed shots and there were injuries… and our bench wasn’t complete”.

Billed as the top liner of the round’s fixtures, due to both teams unbeaten runs in the season, Air Force put a meek performance against the defending champions. Despite starting the game on a blistering note to lead 7-0, the team sputtered in the remaining minutes of the game.

For starters, the team had just two substitutes available and played some portions of the game with no backups as two players fouled out of the game.

The team will look to put the miserable performance behind them when it plays Galaxy on Thursady at the Lebanon House in Tudu in Accra; Ghana’s capital.
