Braves of Customs head coach Lawal Brimah has expressed delight about Ghanaian NBA prospect Ben Bentil ahead of the 2016 NBA Draft which takes place on Thursday, June 23 at the Barclays Center in New York.

Speaking to Basketballghana.com, the 2015 Coach of the Year whose nephew Amida will be automatically eligible for a place in next year’s draft, was happy with the 6 foot 8 inch Forward who emerged the Most Improved Player of the Big East Conference this season for Providence College in the United States.

“ He is a good player, I wish him well…We want more Ghanaian players to go in that field so that (with) any national assignment, they can come and help. I am happy that we (Ghanaians) are getting most of these boys into the NBA” he said.

Bentil shot to prominence after a strong showing in his season for Providence averaging 21 points and seven rebounds. He won was named Most Improved in the Big East for his outstanding performance in the season and emerged the top scorer in the conference.

Per NBA.com’s mock draft, the Ghanaian is projected to be drafted by Chicago Bulls with the 48th pick but improves nine places on the board per nbadraft.net and expected to be drafted by New Orleans Pelicans.
Bentil’s teammate Kris Dunn is expected to be picked in the top five.
