Former Men’s Division II Champions DC Dynamics clinched its first win in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Division I after beating Holy Family 40-39 at the Prisons Court in Cantonments in the latest round of games. Their win was preceded by Braves 83-43 mauling of Prisons and Magic’s exciting 48-38 win over Navy.

Dynamics’s first win in the elite division was a needed one following two straight defeats to Reformers and Teshie Rangers. The Dansoman based side had to battle a tough Holy Family side that pushed the game all the way to the final minutes.

Point Guard Nii Lantei Blankson’s late free throws proved crucial as Family run out of time to send the game into overtime or even grab a win.

Prior to Dynamics win, defending champions Braves of Customs won another game; this time beating home side Reformers of Prisons to extend its winning streak to four from four games. Despite losing massively to Braves, Reformers showed optimum intensity throughout the game with likes of Felix Abagi, Elvis Pobi Siaw and Nii Ayi coming up with big shots.

Tudu Magic rolled to victory over Navy without charismatic technical head James Okine on the sidelines. Having produced a weak performance in their last outing against Teshie Rangers, Magic looked a transformed side with Ekow Amoako in the fold. Unlike previous encounters where the team looked lost on offense, their win over Navy came courtesy great ball movement and ferocious rebounding.
