nba_g_trey-burke_mb_576x324The Utah Jazz have traded point guard Trey Burke to the Washington Wizards, league sources told The Vertical.

The Wizards will send a 2021 second-round pick to the Jazz, sources said.

Along with an agreement with free agent Andrew Nicholson on Sunday, the Wizards are starting to build out their bench.

For Burke, the No. 9 overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft, this is a chance to reset his career after never gaining traction with the Jazz.

Utah drafted point guard Dante Exum with the No. 5 overall pick in 2014 and traded for Indiana’s George Hill last week.

Burke, 23, is a fleet, skilled playmaker who can reshape his career as a backup to All-Star John Wall. Burke was an All-American at the University of Michigan.
