Fire Service Small Forward Farahat Tamimiu Aliu will miss Fire Service next four games in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I following his derogatory remarks towards game officials. The League Board made the decision to banned the mercurial swingman to serve as a deterrent to other players.

Tamimu, who has already missed out on Fire’s two games due to his ejection from a league game against Teshie Rangers, has been ordered to write letters of apology to officials he abused including Umpire Olivia Agbenuzi, veteran referee Mathias Ocloo and the Greater Accra Regional Basketball Association.

Per reports gathered by Basketballghana.com, Tamimu will receive a lengthy ban should he repeat such intransigent behavior. His ban was set to begin in Fire’s game against Tudu Magic but will have to wait further since the matchup was postponed.

Tamimu Aliu in the third quarter of a league game against Teshie Rangers verbally abused officials for failing to call a foul for him and after getting ejected, threatened them before being ushered off the court.
