Holy Family Captain James Pappoe has stated his side’s maiden win of the season took a lot to be accomplished.
Family won its’ first game of the season by beating Air Force 56-53 in the Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I games played at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu that also had Tema Youth beat DC Dynamics 58-49.
Speaking to Basketballghana.com after the game, Pappoe was delighted with the result that ended the side’s five game losing streak.
“ It (the win) took a lot from us, we had to so many things we weren’t doing from the start…after losing five games from the start obviously I am happy now I am all excited” he said.
Family’s first win of the season came in at a timely juncture in the season as it gives the side a chance to avoid dropping to the second tier in the division. The team is still stuck bottom in the standings but is equal on points with Air Force who sit ninth in the ten team standings.
Pappoe came through with a bunch of crucial baskets which made his side’s lead safe to a well deserved win. Holy Family will meet Tudu Magic in a must win encounter on Friday August 6.
