Players selected in the maiden High School and College Draft will help Accra Academy’s Basketball Team according to Coach Curlsbonny Joshua Owusu.

Speaking to Basketballghana.com, Owusu stated the five players selected will help improve the depth of the team’s roster and make it a more formidable side to compete in championships notably the upcoming Sprite Ball High School Basketball Championship.

The players, like others selected by other top institutions in Ghana will benefit from scholarships from the institution after excelling in an intense four day session at the University of Ghana.

“Ever since we didn’t play well at the Sprite Ball, I realized we were a shame to the school and it was something weren’t expecting…I have been able to come out with a new strategy together with my team and currently these players are really going to be of good help. I am going to blend them with the other players and I am sure we will have good results” he said.

Accra Academy imploded at the 2016 Sprite Ball Championship losing all three preliminary games to Mawuli Senior High School, Mfantsipim School and the famous 1-18 loss to Koforidua Secondary Technical School.
