Accra Basketball League returns later today with two games set to be honored at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu, Accra as Braves of Customs takes on Teshie Rangers after Tudu Magic and Fire Service engage in a highly anticipated opening game.
The league witnessed yet another break in schedule to allow players compete in the just ended After7 Cowbell Fetu Afahy3 Basketball Tournament where players from Magic and Fire combined to secure Greater Accra the competition’s gold medal.
Despite both teams securing qualification to the playoffs following Holy Family and Air Force’ relegation to Division II, both teams will engage in what promises to be an exciting duel as they battle for better playoff seeds.
Magic, having lost a single game in seven games all season, the side is fourth in the standings and looks primed to secure higher positions ahead of Dynamics and Ghana Navy who occupy higher positions ahead of Magic due to having played more games.
The tone of the following game takes a significant dive as defending and unbeaten champions Braves of Customs plays Teshie Rangers. Rangers have won two of eight games played thus far in the season and have been lucky to escape a quick return to Division II following an abysmal run in its debut season.
For Braves, the team will feature 2016 Most Valuable Male Player of the Year Suleman Abubakar in his game since scooping the top prize in Ghana.
