The third installment of Ashaiman Lions-Nungua Coldstore matchup is set to be honored at the Community 4 Basketball Court in the Tema Community Basketball League on October 16 after both sides secured passage to the final game.
Ashaiman Lions beat Flashlights of Tema New Town 46-42 and Nungua Coldstore strutted to a comfortable 51-38 win over Community 12 in the playoffs semi finals over the weekend.
Both sides were on the opposite end in getting the respective wins with Lions struggling to put away a stubborn Flashlights side but look on as Coldstore delivered a commanding performance to dominate Community 12.
Both sides are familiar with each other as they starred in Group B in the regular season with Ashaiman topping the group with Nungua following closely.
However, Nungua toppled Lions in the postseason curtain raiser “Basketball Battle Tournament” when they beat Ashaiman 47-37 in the final.
On the individual battles, both sides feature standout talents that are in the running to be named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the league in Ashaiman’s Elvis Pobi-Siaw and Coldstore’s Kofi Agyei who was named Basketball Battle MVP.
Community 12 and Flashlights of Tema New Town will compete for third place.
