Nungua Coldstore has set up a final meeting with Ashaiman Lions in the 2016 Tema Community Basketball League after beating Community 12 51-38 in the semi finals at the Community 4 Basketball Court.
Ashaiman Lions on the other hand, beat Flashlights of Tema New Town 46-42 in a highly entertaining round of games that has become synonymous with the league since its inception earlier in the year by former University of Education-Winneba standout Frederick Yeboah.
Nungua Coldstore eased to victory over Community 12 on the back off splendid work on the boards by Forwards Kwame Boamah Djan and Kofi Agyei; the latter in the mix to be named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the league.
Ashaiman’s MVP candidate Elvis Pobi-Siaw was in inspired form as Lions scrapped through a tough duel against Flashlights of Tema New Town. The lions struggled to put aside Flashlights contrary to the form it showed in the regular season where the side topped Group B ahead of Nungua Coldstore.
The side must turn its play around before meeting Nungua after the latter beat Ashaiman 47-37 to win the postseason curtain raiser “Basketball Battle” Tournament.
